I don't think the 'Sanitation is....' comment is the general feeling on reddit at least. Being the enlightened, educated and civil bunch that we are (?) most of us probably feel that although keeping the streets clean is the councils remit, that doesn't excuse companies who's business-plan blatantly includes giving people piles of wrappers etc that they will/have to discard immediately outside the premises. There should probably be some addendum to leases that if your business supplies items for immediate consumption that have lots of disposable packing, then you are responsible for it within (reasonable distance). But yeah - if so many people weren't scum, this wouldn't be an issue.
