There is a housing crisis across all sectors in Glasgow. Indeed the most effective way to fix that is to increase stock. There really isn't going to be a magic bullet solution that doesn't involve increasing stock here. Literally every single student accommodation in the west end is fully booked and students in shared flats are not paying much less than £600 a month. We either need fewer students or more stock. But again this isn't just a student issue so I guess you would need to say broadly Glasgow either needs fewer people or more housing stock. I think the only practical answer here is more housing stock. |
