It's worth a visit, especially if you like boats, lots of boats to look at. Nice park in the centre.

The train ride is stunning and goes through the middle of forests/woods, countryside, past Girvan and some places where you feel like you're genuinely in the middle of nowhere.

The trains aren't very frequent so if you need somewhere to wait after you've had a good walk I can recommend 'Custom House' for a pub - standard Greene King chain pub but comfortable enough.

I believe there's also a museum but it was shut on Sunday.
