I’ve lived here for nearly 10 years openly Gay, with my partner and never had any experience of homophobia (other than maybe the odd street preacher - but sometimes a helpful bagpiper will drown them out)

I’ve heard of some homophobic attacks - no more different to other big cities. You will unfortunately get homo/trans/bi phobia wherever you go in the world.

There’s a lively LGBTQ+ scene here. Quite a few designated sports clubs, shops, clubs and bars. Loads of queer friendly bars too. We also have 2 pride events! The (predominately corporate sponsor driven) Glasgow pride, and a community driven MardiGla.

The city is generally left leaning and liberal, I would describe it as LGBTQ+ friendly.
