These things all happened very recently, how can you say they haven’t worked in the long-term? What do you define as long-term, 1 year?

The shit public transport has got nothing to do with money in regards to what the city council has powers to do. If you’re wanting transformational change such as in the proposed Clyde Metro proposal then that is coming from the national coffers. Local councils don’t have the money raising powers or ring fenced control for those type of developments sadly.

If Glasgow won the Eurovision bid, what are they paying the organisers for? I’m genuinely curious here, Eurovision is coming to the hydro. If anything I would’ve though the organisers would be paying the Hydro and their company.

Unless you have the numbers to reinforce your argument, I’m very disinclined to support limiting the international reputation of Glasgow by knocking back hosting events because of a slightly more evolved version of the ‘why don’t they fix the roads first’ argument.

Eurovision would almost certainly be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any city, especially considering the UK has for my lifetime been terrible at the show.
