>How much money does a business in any city lose by Mardi gras passing by?

>How much does a colourful gay pride march cost businesses they pass?

The demographic for those events is quite different from the demographic at a Orange walk in Glasgow. Significantly. the Gay Pride march brings in a substantial amount of money to bars and restaurants that cater to gay clientele. The "pink pound" is quite significant in Glasgow. Just ask the pub and club trade.

Same goes for the Mardi Gras.

Now as an overview i am not discounting that the Orange Walks might bring in revenue. But no one has ever done a cost analysis of what the Orange Walks contribute to Glasgow financially. This would be a major opportunity for the Orange Lodge in glasgow to show what they contribute to Glasgow with regard to trade, and custom during the summer marching season. so if their is issue with the policing costs to Glasgow, the marchers can say that this is offset by the money that comes in (if it does).

I just find it curious that no one in Glasgow has ever attempted to find these things out.
