I net \~68.8k after pension contributions, wife doesn't work, child goes to daycare, 2 dogs, live in city centre. I think the biggest thing people don't realize when they start making more money is that, if your lifestyle is fine, the extra money can be used to make your retirement better / come faster. Most people tend to continue to increase their lifestyle instead. Knowing I put a substantial amount towards retirement each year is what takes away "the fear" for me.
