The way I understood it is that OP is saying that putting on the heating is inevitable as they work from home. The comment you replied to is also saying to put the heating on, just one room at a time depending on where they are. For humidity to turn into mold it would take longer than a few days with no heating.

I don't really know anything about vents, you are probably right. However the advice above is not mentioning any vents in particular but to just use draught excluders. I live in an old merchant house and have draught excluders on all the windows and on the front door. I also bought thermal curtains this summer and keep them closed during the night and open them in the morning especially if it's sunny to let some warmth in.
