Really? Where are you seeing this stuff? Mid-century is incredibly popular now, and the prices reflect that. Adjusted for inflation, furniture by quality brands of the time, such as G-Plan and Ercol, cost more to buy now second-hand than they did back then. I've seen 1960s G-Plan wardrobes with £1000+ price tags.
