To me its not an issue of hatred; Its an issue of lost revenue.
*Example*;
Say the wife wants to take the daughter shopping for nice things. but then cant get into town due to the orange walk. then when they do get in, they realise that a walk is taking place, and the daughter is frightened. So the mum decides to take her to a cafe. Only to discover the cafe has closed for the day due to it being on the marching route.
So several retail shops are affected by the walks, who have lost custom and trade. And the cafe has lost potential customers and coin again due to the unpredictable nature of the summer walks. Now consider that the high street is dying on its feet at the moment due to multiple issues, can Glasgow's shops, cafes and restaurants afford to take a significant hit in their pockets due to the Orange Walks? (EG; how many empty shops does central glasgow have now?!)
So a significant amount of revenue and custom is lost, to service the historical remnant that is the Orange Walks. |
