Last December, Christmas Eve or close. I took a delivery for a neighbour to try and help out a delivery guy (not Amazon). Maybe I was too friendly (my default).
A few minutes later the same guy rings my doorbell, I’m like do you have another parcel? He starts to take his boots off, I’m like WTF? He says he need to use the loo, I’m still like what? He kind of gestures that he needs to pee.
I say, sorry, no, mentally clocking the guy in the flat next door going in and hopefully witnessing the scene.
I was lucky. The delivery guy was like sure no problem but I was left really rattled and feeling conflicted between trusting people and being a decent human being and letting a complete stranger come into my home and use the bathroom, while I’m on my own as my husband was at work.
You have to put your safety first. Period. |
