My wife was in the same boat as you. Literally could not get an appointment at all for months. One day, out of the blue she decided to phone up and ask if she could make an appointment and they just asked her to come in the next day. Might have been extremely lucky but I'd suggest just phoning in every now and then just in case a timeslot opens up.
