I got diagnosed recently and I'm in my 30's

I've always found it difficult to do things like get jobs that aren't in hospitality or call centres

I am embarrassed that I have to ask my mum to help me tidy up

I'm not able to live as independently as I'd like to. There's talk of putting me into assisted housing/living.

Life can be very mentally exhausting. Lots and lots of emotions going through my head then reliving the things I said in case it was the wrong thing to say and then worrying that you are doing everything wrong and scared to do anything because of it.

I'm getting better and realized I was struggling for a long time without help and I turned into a horrible person.

I attend a mental health centre and had a meeting with a psychiatrist where we discussed my traumas, how autism is making me feel, how it's affecting me, and there's discussion to meet psychologists to help me cope with that. The specialists who diagnosed me also offer post diagnosis help, so I'm getting help as I'm finding it incredibly difficult to navigate my emotions and I can get frustrated easily.

I'm taking a break from employment. Honestly it sounds like your brother is experiencing [burnout](https://autismawarenesscentre.com/what-is-autistic-burnout/)
