Automatics are perfectly fine for everyone.


1) You don't "learn better", the thing you learn in should be tailored to the person, the rules of the road and how to actually drive on them don't change because you're able to change the gears yourself or use a clutch.
2) Pretty much all the available automatics nowadays have the ability to manually select the gears if you wish (good for getting out of snow, etc), not to mention that most modern automatics do an equally good job in shifting gears as a manual operator, it barely matters at all especially if you're just commuting.
3) This is just a preference.
