| Comment | Tipping here is a mixed bag. Some people have watched too much US Tele and think it has to be done. But unlike us servers there is a minimum wage etc so our servers aren't reliant on tips to survive. (please note I am not saying min wage is good but merely pointing out the massive difference between the us and UK system)
Most people I know would tip around 10% if the service was good. And by good I mean very good.
As for bar staff, I tend to round up to the nearest full pound, eg round is £9 I'll tell them to keep the change on the £10. But once again no need to do this for the reasons above.
The only other people I might tip would be delivery drivers and taxis on the same style as bar staff. |
