| Comment | A lot of places have started adding ‘discretionary’ service charges onto your bill. Read your bill before you pay as the servers most likely won’t tell you and there’s a chance you’ll pay service then tip again.
Only pay it if you want to.
If you want to pay it, check with the staff that they actually get all of it as it’s easier for companies to steal staff tips this way. If they don’t get all of it or don’t get it at all, politely ask them to remove it and you can leave your own cash tip with your server if you feel like you want to. |
