| Comment | Not really - I earn a basic wage so can’t afford to consistently tip (nor do I regularly eat out to be fair). If we go out as part of a large group we leave a tip as we will be more demanding on the server.
When I earned minimum wage in fast food I never got any tips and would often do 12 hour shifts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays finishing at 4-5am. Serving many hundreds of customers each shift in a hot kitchen. Naff pay and naff conditions as a student. Even then that was on my employer to improve pay and conditions not the customers. |
