| Comment | I work in a shop in Princes Square so I have to cut through Buchanan Street to get there when I’m working.
It’s a dump. The bins are absolutely disgusting and I feel sick nearly every time I walk past them. The amount of junkies you get walking up to you and asking for money is ridiculous.
A few weeks ago I had one come up to me and must have been old enough to be my dad (I’m 21). He came right up to me and stood directly in front of me so I couldn’t move. He asked me for money for ‘food’.
I reached into my pocket and pulled out two pound coins and a few bits of smash that probably came to about £3. I handed it to him and he looked at me like I just shat in his hand and said ‘What the fuck is that going to get me?’ Before tossing the coins into my face and walked off.
Obviously I was a bit intimidated so I didn’t bother picking the coins up and just walked away. He turned around and shouted abuse at me, before beginning to follow me for about ten minutes.
Eventually I made it to work and he stopped following me.
This city is a disgrace and nothing is being done about these issues. |
