There are places in the Mearns and Castlemilk where you can’t get data throughput. If you expect the system to remove a scheduled service from the app when it can’t track, buses would be disappearing off the app all day when they are actually running, leading to just as much frustration.
Every bus passing Ibrox or Parkhead on matchdays would disappear off the app due to mobile tower congestion for example. It’s just not practical.
In normal times 99%+ of scheduled bus mileage operates, so the design of the app in normal operation works fine. The current situation is unprecedented.
The fact the staffing situation has went on so long points to other problems. They obviously have serious problems with recruitment and retention. |
