If you're not used to long, dark winters you could get a SAD light or make your place nice and cosy with LED's and candles.

Visit Kelvingrove museum and then cross the road for a cup of proper Chai in Mother India Cafe.

Try the Paddle Boarding 'taster session' or Kayaking on Loch Lomond. Google Westendadventure.

Just a few suggestions going off the description you gave, but there's plenty to do. The world doesn't stop just because it gets dark early. And if you need any help just ask a friendly Glasgwegian. We're (mostly) not too bad.
