I think the definition of poverty I’m using differs to yours. I’m not referring to simply how much cash they have in the bank.

I’m not making excuses; if anything I’m doing the opposite by saying we can’t just say ‘culture’ and ignore the problems. But in my experience the problems are often related to poverty (and how this interacts with the children being unsupervised, education around health and hygiene in the home environment amongst other things).

Many do come from poverty in Eastern Europe, and again, I would challenge that it’s ok to live a certain way here if someone has lived that way before.

I realise it must be incredibly frustrating though.
