Yeah I've had that experience before. However I have still had them not interested at all even when suicidal. Weeks ago my partner called up my mental health clinic who told us to call them in crisis. They said to call an ambulance if i did anything and said they could do nothing else. I brought this up at an appointment recently and my psychiatrist had nothing to say to it. I also broke down and explained that i was scared of doing it to myself, how i would do it, how easy it would be, and his answer was 'well you have your partner'.

I have a history of suicide attempts and self harm, which is still a current issue, yet i have had no treatment for any of this but medications. I was hoping on a referral to a therapy group and waited for 1.5 months, calling the clinic in between to check on the progress, which they said they had no idea about. Then on my recent visit they said the group no longer exists and failed to inform me, which was a huge blow, especially as they offered no other treatment and quickly ushered me out of my appointment that lasted a mere 10 minutes.

That is just not how you treat someone who already feels extremely hopeless. I simply want to better understand my issues and how to cope with them in order to live a normal life, but they're unable to provide me with it, hence my need to seek it elsewhere, even if it's trial and error with private and it puts me into debt. I'm not giving up on myself.

Sad thing is, mother who isn't aware of the suicide or self harm aspects of my illness even told me to pretend that i was suicidal in order for them to take me seriously. If only things were that easy.
