The pounds used to be almost 2 dollars. You exchange £100 at that rate and get $200 (this is assuming no fees etc).
Truss makes a comeback, the pound crashes, now it is only worth one dollar. You convert your $200 back, now you have £200.
The reason you have an apparent loss is the difference in the retail buy/sell rates and fees. |
