Comment | It was a lot better pre-lockdown imo. Only been once this past year, prices had increased hugely since 2019 and it generally seemed a lot less welcoming. Three of us dressed semi-formally, speaking at a normal volume, and on our first drink of the evening, and there was a lot of staring and "can I get you anything else" from the staff.
Not to mention, supposedly they treated their pre-lockdown staff incredibly poorly in 2020, refusing to pay them anything for I think the entire duration of the first lockdown. I'm not sure whether anyone who managed to hang on actually ended up getting any repayment. It's the only Glasgow bar I can think of which behaved at least as badly as Wetherspoons in that regard. |
