As a boiler repair man myself I'd recommend following
Avoid vokeras, ravenheat, forelli etc
They are made of tin essentially, cheap insides rot and leak alot earlier they have rubbish warranties as their own manufacturers don't fancy them to get past 7 years
Alot of gas engineers are lazy/ crap in Glasgow unfortunately - you want a boiler that's easy to service properly. Ideal, worcester and baxis are better as all the bits and bobs that need doing yearly at the front.
This is key as I say alot of engineers in Glasgow give us a bad name and do skip alot out on a service
