You could fly from Glasgow to Inverness, its via Stornoway but still quicker than the other options (2.5 hours). If you can drive a hire car's a good option too. Otherwise, get a taxi to Paisley Gilmour Street and get the train into Glasgow Central then walk to Queen St and get the train from there to Inverness. 3h49 on the train from Glasgow to Inverness.
