About 30 years ago vandals broke into Dean Castle park in Kilmarnock. It had a small petting zoo at the time. They killed dozens of small animals and birds, some of the little aviary birds had their heads stuffed through the mesh fencing. Tame ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs - slaughtered.
