This is the key thing, interest rates of 5-6% aren't on their own enough to put people off buying (although it will reduce what they can borrow), but people like me looking to buy who can wait a bit aren't going to risk taking on a mortgage at 6% today when it might be back down to 3 or 4% in a month's time
