| Comment | Learning to drive atm is a fucking nightmare because so many instructors stopped teaching when lockdowns hit, and so many people who wanted to learn couldn't due to said lockdowns. What you're seeing now is the backlog of people trying to crush through. Depending on your locality, it could even be a 6 month wait list for a test - though, there are apps you can use to pull your date forward by snagging cancellations.
Your best bet is going to be peppering as many instructors as you possibly can and seeing if any of them have availability or a short waiting list. When I was looking, it took me 8 months just to find an instructor who could take me on. Might be slightly better by now, but this was only in Summer this year, so I wouldn't have too high hopes. I also looked for 'intensive' training courses, but simply couldn't find any available in Glasgow or was brought to companies that either didn't exist any more, or instructors who had massive waiting lists, as previously mentioned. Just start contacting people, it's the only thing you can do. |
