Comment | The counties and burghs haven't existed in any official capacity since 1975. So you can refer to them, but they're not a 'correct' answer.
I think confusion arises because many of the county names are still in use as named council areas. But Glasgow City is a specific example where that doesn't apply - e.g. Glasgow used to be (partially) in the historic county of North Lanarkshire, but it is definitely not in the modern definition of the North Lanarkshire Council Area. |
