| Comment | My daughter (now at uni) was badly bullied at her high school in East Ayrshire local authority. I lost count of how many times I was up at that school about it. They did f*** all and in the end, the Local Authority was wholly to blame: their view was that the bullies needed the attention and help, but no assistance would be offered to my daughter. So she just had to suffer while those little dicks got all the attention. I guess the teachers have to go by their LA guidelines, but not once did any of them stick their head above the parapet for them. It's taken my daughter some time and a lot of counselling to realise that she actually deserves friends - heartbreaking. I'm glad to say she has a group of lovely friends at uni now, but she'll often tell me she doesn't actually believe it. There are too many kids getting away with being utterly horrible to their peers and to their teachers because there is never any consequence - they know nobody can do anything about them. |
