Comment | Heard horror stories from who? If it’s someone who has experienced it then that is a shame and unfortunate they’ve experienced it. If it’s just word of mouth I’d say things can be blown out of proportion a bit. In general, people are friendly. There will be the minority who are out of order but that happens everywhere.
Glaswegians can be upfront (as you’ve seen in the comments) and a lot of their humour comes from winding people up so be prepared for some light jest especially if there’s sport on and the 2 teams are playing each other.
I’d also say people will happily call folk out on their bs. So if you act like a tw*t you’re going to be told about it.
And just for some reassurance, my partner is English with a southern accent and has lived here for nearly 4 years and is yet to have any issues. |
