Having worked for what I thought was a mediocre call centre for a few years, quit then gone to another company - there's no bottom for call centres. After sticking around at my last one for a while to pay the bills I quit as I was given a promotion ("Wyrmalla you're a great employee, we'd love if you took this position" - "Can I get that in writing?" - "Sure" - "Cool, here's my notice") and vowed never to go back to any.

Unless you can find that rare non-crappy call centre, at best you're looking at a place that'll destroy your soul in a few years rather than a few months. Just a word of warning for anyone thinking about working at one for longer than a few weeks. There's other work out there which has standards above a sweat shop.
