It’s always better to check on the Vodafone site. I found that the cityfibre site always says that. It doesn’t seem to be updated properly.

The terminology is confusing. Fibre broadband normally means fibre to the cabinet FTTC which is what almost all broadband connections are. The service is still called fibre broadband even though it’s a copper cable that connects from your premises to the cabinet. BT offer that but they don’t offer FTTP which is fibre to the premises. With cityfibre you will get that but again still called fibre broadband. You can tell the difference by the speeds offered. 500mb is defo FTTP.

Talk Talk should be ok. Just try to get the activation date as close as possible to the BT end date. There is no reason why it couldn’t be same day.

Plus net do use the openreach network. Not sure about city fibre.

What you can do is use the providers broadband availability check in a postcode that has city fibre. For example check anything from 200 archerhill road upwards. If you see speeds of 500mb then that’s full fibre FTTP. You are best to select one of the providers that offers 500mb as they will let you switch to the fibre network when you get the service. Obviously all they will be able to offer you is a standard adsl connection FTTC using open reach in the mean time.
