We're with Octopus for electric and they're doing a "Savings Session" thing, which i think is a National Grid initiative, to reduce consumption at peak times. Yesterday it was 530-630. In lucky enough to work from home and be able to stick the heating on and prep dinner beforehand, but we went all-out this week and switched off everything except the fridge freezer and the house alarm (because it whinges off the power fire off).

Had dinner by candle light and then a game of monopoly with the kids. For that hour we spent 2p on electricity and will probably earn about £2 back, which is buttons, but it's a fun exercise to try willingly and the kids enjoyed it.

Does feel a bit like a planned outage though, which is pretty worrying in the grand scheme of things.
