maybe something with a Rennie Macintosh theme? My mum got some mugs from the wee tourist info centre near the necropolis and she loves them, but there are lots of places in town to get the same thing. In addition there’s those rainbow highland cows or stags you see everywhere, a cushion cover or something? In the Buchanan galleries there is a Scottish art shop on the top floor, with lots of handmade things from Scottish artists and designers.

If you want consumables, there is always tablet, shortbread etc. you can buy lovely yarn from the Highlands and Islands if that’s something that suits. The hebredian (sp?) baker also has a new cookbook out I think, he’s quite good! There is a candle shop on Buchanan street that is Scottish made (I think it’s called Inis?) which is pricey but very nice.

You could also get them a Glasgow warriors or Scottish rugby jersey if they watch rugby, my dad wears his all the time (in Ireland).
