Be honest though. You just drive to the shopping centres now don't you? There is research on this. The vast majority of regular visitors to the city centre do not drive.
There will be more room for deliveries and more demand for taxis. I talked to a taxi driver about this recently and they were delighted about it. Fewer cars in city centre means more fares for them.
