The data does not support this assertion. The shopping centres outside Glasgow are dying and the footfall is in absolute freefall while city centre footfall is increasing. Very few people drive into Glasgow to visit a restaurant in the evening and those that do do so infrequently. The meat and potatoes of the city centre trade is in pedestrian footfall and it makes sense to accept the reality and adapt to it. |
