| Comment | Ma da grew up in the gorbals in the 60s and told me that he'd heard stories about it from the local weans being that basically there was a vampire snatching weans and whisking them away to the southern necropolis at night, the weans tried telling their parents and the polis but got laughed away as vampires don't exist, so they got all the weans about their age together and said right we need to deal with this ourselves, climbed in at night with their pen knives and slings, and then it stopped, whether they found the vampire and put a stake through the heart like they did with Thatcher we don't know, but the killings stopped after that. Obviously that's from the perspective of a wee guy hearing stories from other weans about something they believed as weans, so unlikely to be completely accurate obviously. |
