Yes!! From Dublin, moved to Glasgow September 2021.

Rent much cheaper. Easily rent your own flat which is basically impossible in Dublin unless you've a well above average wage! I pay £495/month for a 1 bed tenement flat and I'm fortunately allowed a cat! Thats about 2.5 miles out east end of city. Rent in southside central/west end/city centre can be a good bit more. If you've a partner/friend you'll get a cracking flat between yous! Think commuter towns too as cheaper rent (on a good train line).

Council tax is something we have in the UK though so factor that in too. For refuse, water, all that pish. Goes in bands. Most flats are between a-c, mine is band a and my council tax is around £96/month atm, change yearly but not much.

Foods the same as home - inflated to fuck

Bit cheaper to eat out. Significantly cheaper to buy drinks in a supermarket/pub. Taxis also a bit cheaper.

Wages are lower, but goes without saying why.

Public transport is around the same for buses, but can save a good bit using the first bus app
Trains can be a bit pricey but can also save with prepaid tickets.

People are class and a load of Irish here too!! I don't regret moving and I recommend it.
