Dublin has a bit nicer climate and pretty seaside areas like Sandycove, Killiney, Howth. It's atrociously expensive as others have noted. You're close to the Wicklow hills which are pretty but no match for Loch Lomond etc to be honest. Dublin is very touristy and international, more like Edinburgh.
Actually Glasgow is more like Belfast for many reasons not just sectarianism. The Irish descendant community of Glasgow originated mainly from Ulster and Donegal. Culturally it has more in common to the North while Dublin has historic connections to England in particular Liverpool and to some extent London.
