Just remember, you can change what map you're looking at from the dropdown, and thus the year you're looking at.
Proper OS-style maps don't go much further back than the mid 1800s but you get to see how proper quick Glasgow sprung up from basically nothing in 1850, to a stupid amount of buildings by 1910.
