I hate to break it to you but if you have a roof over your head, a warm place to sleep, a job, money for food AND £400 disposable income at the end of the month - you’re doing so much better than a lot of people in Glasgow. Not to mention, you seem to be affording all this yourself and not splitting bills with a partner. You’re also working 40 hours a week which is decent compared to some folk working 60+ hour weeks just to get a hot dinner each night.

It sounds to me like you’re upset that the job you’ve chosen to do is not paying the salary you’d like. If you look across the board at admin jobs, I think you’ll find your salary is pretty average for that line of work.
You should take some of your free time to find out what other interests you have outside of admin work that would match with a better salary (and maybe even less that 40 hours of work per week) and pursue this. I hate the government as much as the next person but it sounds like you’re blaming them for problems that aren’t actually affecting you instead of taking accountability for your unhappiness yourself.
