Currently on a little more than that at the moment but having to now run two houses opposite ends of the country as I undertake training steps for new job hopefully with prospect that it works out and will be in a far better position in years to come. £1700 or so after deductions per month and still have to pay my share of me and missus house in Glasgow, whilst now having to flat share down south for the next year or so.

Things won't ever get better standing still, no one will offer you a better job/salary for nothing unfortunatel only person that can change your situation is yourself but I agree things have of course got worse in last few years which is even more incentive to go out and look to change that if you can. At 27, nearly a decade ago I went to uni, completed that and have since gone in a completely different direction without actually directly benefitting in that field. But no doubt it probably helped me personally and professionally to move on in a completely different directions by showing me probably what sort of work and environment I don't want to be involved with for the rest of my life if I can help it.
