depends on the employer. when I was a public school teacher in Texas, it was incredibly cheap. about 200 a month out of my paycheck. yearly women visits and general check ups were free. copay for prescriptions ranged from 0-100 depending on where you got it from. with the new online prescription service, it's much cheaper.

not everything is doom and gloom. you just hear about the shite bits from people who aren't in comfy, secure jobs. which in itself is ridiculous. but, yeah, and engineering job making $200,000+? easily very cushy if you aren't a tit about spending.
