I’m not trying to make any big point or start any arguments at all, but there are various different answers here - I think it’s pretty obvious that folk live to a budget they can afford. What seems like living frugally for a week to one person, might be what another lives on for a whole month. A wee Deliveroo as a treat might be what someone else is left with, after they have paid the rest of their bills each month. That person might be the Mum or Dad you see at the school gates every day, or the neighbour you see in the close once a week.

Only thing I wanted to say - Christmas can be a tough time, so if you can support your food bank, or any other local charity, do it. Donations are always up in December, but don’t forget, problems don’t go away in January, but donations definitely drop off.

If you’re struggling, you can ask for help - schools, Citizens Advice, this sub, doctors, local councillors and MPs can all direct you to things you might not realise are available.
