Being shoved out the front door in my pj's by my Mum a few minutes before midnight with a box of shortbread and a few pound coins to first foot is a big tradition from my childhood. Getting to stay up to watch Only An Excuse and then the bells as well, and steak pie that had to be served as the bells rang out.
