Almost certainly condensation as that area will be cold.

You could consider using a dehumidifier (not cheap to buy or run), opening your window "trickle vents", or (and you won't like this) opening all the windows for a few minutes to vent the moist air. Cooking, drying laundry, showering (esp. if no vent), and even just _breathing_ will all make the air moist.

You could buy a humidity sensor but with the only two real options being driven rain or moisture condensing on a cold area, you may as well just consider it condensation an act accordingly.

TBH a 1910 tenement usually has enough leaks that it isn't much of a problem!

As for a model - we've always used EcoAir one and have no complaints.
