You can choose what to do in the afternoon beyond hanging about outside the shop, staring at the sea or getting drunk in the house. You could go and see a band, walk round a gallery or a museum, choose what park you want to go to etc etc. if you think people in cities are "weirdos" then fucking Kilmarnock or whatever rundown shithole you live in is welcome to you.
