You could get a soil sieve - they’re about a tenner from Screwfix or Toolstation. If you’ve got a wheelbarrow and a shovel, you could shovel a pile in to the sieve, and might be easier to get an even spreading that chucking a pile off a shovel. Make sure to get one with big enough holes.
